So this happened some time in March and I guess I completely forgot to mention it? The middle shelf is longer than the bottom or top shelves so I made the braces sit wider. All that to say, they’re aren’t crooked! They also aren’t permanent, so for now they’re a major improvement.
Thought I’d share some things currently happening at Casa de Yu. Giant ceramic peace signs (thrifted), strange half gold, half gray ceramic orbs, DIY caged pendants I made recently, squirrel cages. You know, good stuff.

I love how the paint turned out on the armoire. Its shades lighter than the gray on the wall, so it goes but doesn’t blend in. The hardware, however, has worn out its welcome. I tried to live with it, but its overall just too dark for me. I think the scale is off too,Continue reading
We’re enjoying the residual excitement from the trip and taking it easy this week. We’ll be back with some projects and updates soon. :) Oh, and don’t mind our dust if you happen to notice a few changes around the site as well.
This room is definitely not finished. We’re planning on getting the wingback chairs reupholstered in a black fabric as well as painting the wood black.
