The last time you saw our living room it was freshly painted and holding on to a lot of our old shit.

I still had dreams of reupholstering those old grandma chairs we got for $15 on Craigslist (spoiler: never happened and we let them go). That low West Elm coffee table also found a new home. A lot of the tchotchkes had to be edited and repurposed. Nothing like a 12lb brass deer (gazelle??) to seriously injure a child. At least that’s where my mind went.

These days IKEA Besta system I always intended to turn into a low “built-in” credenza still isn’t “built-in” and is home to a mini-library and revolving line of toys. The leaning frames were finally hung so as to also be less of a fall-and-injure concern. We got a new couch from Arhaus that is more like a bed with how deep it is and became a lifesaver for the countless times one of us had to sleep out here with the baby.

It’ll be interesting to see how this space evolves are our family’s needs do. This is by far our most used room and no coffee table means more room for hunting snipes and running challenges.
